A friend on Mal'ganis got me into this type of music, along with house music and some other techno / trance stuff. I used to be huge on Rock and basically nothing else but I'm liking this genre a lot. Anyone listen and have recommendations?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oib0JvkDzYk Is one of my favorites already.
Call me Ren. Its easier for all of us.

[01:54:00] [W From] [Orangina]: so you dating a republican white girl who plays 7 different instruments and reads 5 papers and has a dad in congress and she's prude but deep down a raging slut waiting to be released

Dubstep ^_^ Put ya lightaz in da air!

I was a rocker back in high school, mainly heavy metal like Sepultura, Megadeth, Metallica, Korn, Pantera, etc. Then my best friend got me into weed and I instantly dropped playing my guitar and started listening to hip hop. I started going out to hip hop clubs and trance/house clubs. And then I went to a rave. I was hooked on that scene from day one. Jungle (aka. Drum'n'Bass music) was blasted on a daily basis. Evolving from jungle music, Dubstep is what I listen to everyday best cranked inside my 01' Prelude with 2 x 10" Kicker Solobarics. GG

Here are a few of my favs Ren.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agE8kE1eyNE - Reggae flavor. Dubstep drop at 1:36min
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1S35THmZD_E - Big tune! (official video)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9WYeQxg8uU - Plan B tears up the mic. Wait for the drop on this one.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GaQxn1Ke8AY&feature=related - Filthy drop
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZkzcm7ubQg - Filthy

Sometimes you need to switch it up. Too much filthy dubstep rapes your ears. Here's a couple of tunes with nice beats and female vocals. Popstep? lol

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m2vWQFHP3D0 - This one is from Magnetic Man which are Skream, Benga, and Artwork. 3 of the biggest names in dubstep.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNhPYj-5rIY - Katy B is such a cutie!

Enjoy! hehe

hey jack
i got some dubstep for you
ive been into this genre for a little over a month now

if you ever have 55 minutes, go listen to this
believe it or not, trokar made this mix
he went and bought some 400 dollar turntables and a really nice dj program for the computer and he's getting pretty good at this shit
ive actually listened to the whole thing from start to finish about 20 times already

it starts off slow, but right around 3 or 4 minutes it picks up and stays there.
the drops are sick in some of the songs
and he mixes it up and throws hip hop in there sometimes
some of the transitions are sloppy (which i already talked to him about)
but for the most part, ill lower the volume on wow, and run chain heroics or slay bitches in bgs with this in the background

Trokar comin through with the wikkid mix. Big tunes!!! My head was rocking from song #1 to end dude. Love the hip hop you threw in there; didn't mess up the flow and was totally dope. I think more dubstep dj's should do the same in there mixes lol. The 2 genres kind of feed off each other.
In terms of the mixing, you did awesome since you are just starting out. I've heard worse. For example, a couple of my friends did the same thing but are still terrible at mixing. Like really bad lol. So keep it up man, you'll get it soon enough.
Can't wait for the next mix lol :D
